About Pam

I'm married to Petre Scheie, and have two children in St. Louis Park public schools. Jill has attended St. Louis Park public schools K-11, and is now a senior. She has been a SLP synchronized swimmer for 5 years and will be one of the captains of the team 07-08. She also participates in SLP varsity speed swimming and Nordic skiing.

Michael has attended St. Louis Park public schools K-4 and is in 5th grade at Susan Lindgren. Michael has participated in SLP in-house soccer.

Community Involvement

Experienced classroom volunteer: Picture Person (arts education), Project Respect (diversity training) and Book Nook; expertise in reading and math intervention.

Chair, Peter Hobart Primary Center Site Council. Skilled in working within a team of parents, teachers and education administrators to reduce impact of budget cuts on student education.

Co-chair of the successful 2004 "Vote Yes" Committee (campaign to renew the District 283 operating bond and to create a new capital bond in order to repair and update buildings and infrastructure systems).

Volunteer, campaigns of State Representative Steve Simon and former State Senator Steve Kelley. Advocate for education funding and policy that enhances student opportunity.

Chair, Citizens Advocating Resources for Education (ICARE); advocate for adequate funding and appropriate curriculum standards.
