About Pam


My parents and I moved to St. Louis Park in 1966 (my parents purchased Susan Lindgren's home). I attended Park Knoll Elementary School, Central Junior High (now Community Center) and graduated from St. Louis Park Senior High.




I'm married to Peter Scheie, and our son attends St. Louis Park senior high school.

Our daughter graduated from St. Louis Park in 2007 and is now a senior at Gustavus Adolphus College.


St. Louis Park School Board

I have served on the St. Louis Park School Board since 2008, during which time we have:

Started holding listening sessions.

Started a Community Financial Action group.

Completed a Strategic Plan for the district.

Completed a facility study for the district.

Closed a school.

Changed school boundaries.

Changed school start times.

Changed grade configurations.


Community Involvement

Co-chair of the successful 2004 "Vote Yes" Committee (campaign to renew the District 283 operating bond and to create a new capital bond in order to repair and update buildings and infrastructure systems). Board liaison to the successful 2008 “Vote Yes” Committee.


Chair, Citizens Advocating Resources for Education (ICARE); advocate for adequate funding and appropriate curriculum standards.


Experienced classroom volunteer: Picture Person (arts education), Project Respect (diversity training) and Book Nook; expertise in reading and math intervention.


Chair, Peter Hobart Primary Center Site Council. Skilled in working within a team of parents, teachers and education administrators to reduce impact of budget cuts on student education.
